July 2 – 14, 2004
The
William-Scott Gallery is pleased to announce the ninth annual
Fourth of July exhibition of new works by artist Will Klemm,
on view July 2 - 14. Working in the colorist tradition,
Klemm explores timeless, dream-like landscapes. This
year’s exhibition focuses on his traditional medium
of pastel, for which he is renowned, but also includes a
handful of oil paintings. Proving to be a master of both
media, Klemm’s works are luminous, ethereal, and expertly
rendered.

He
creates landscapes that are at once powerful and sublime,
evoking nature’s mystery and spirituality. His
works draw the viewer into their quiet solitude, providing
a peaceful sanctuary from the day to day clamor of
contemporary life. A reception for the artist will
be held on Friday, July 2nd from 7 to 9pm.
A
selection of Klemm’ solo exhibitions includes the
Multiple Impressions Gallery, and the New York Art Exposition,
both in NYC, the Harris Gallery,
Wally Workman Gallery, and Graphic Concern, all in
TX, and the Winn-Devon Gallery in Seattle, WA. His
work has been included in exhibitions at the Dallas Museum
of Art, and the Austin Museum of
Art, and is held in the corporate collections of Motorola,
Samsung, and Fidelity Mutual, among others. Klemm
holds a B.F.A., Summa Cum Laude, from the University of
Texas at Austin .
The William-Scott Gallery is located at 439 Commercial Street in the heart of Provincetown’s East End gallery district. All exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public.
