This
year’s exhibition is particularly noteworthy as the
artist has diverged from his traditional medium of pastel,
for which he is renowned, and is now working exclusively
in oils. Proving to be every bit the master of his new
medium, Klemm’s oils are luminous, ethereal, and
expertly rendered. He creates landscapes
that are at once powerful and sublime, evoking nature’s
mystery and spirituality. His works draw the
viewer into their quiet solitude, providing a peaceful
sanctuary from the day to day clamor of contemporary life.
A
selection of Klemm’ solo exhibitions includes the
Multiple Impressions Gallery, and the New York Art Exposition,
both in NYC, the Harris Gallery, Wally Workman Gallery, and
Graphic Concern, all in TX, and the Winn-Devon Gallery
in Seattle, WA. His work has been included in exhibitions
at the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Austin Museum of
Art, and is held in the corporate collections of Motorola,
Samsung, and Fidelity Mutual, among others. Klemm
holds a B.F.A., Summa Cum Laude, from the University
of Texas at Austin.
The William-Scott Gallery is located at 439 Commercial
Street in the heart of Provincetown’s East End gallery district. All
exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public. For more information
