GORDON FOWLER

Gordon Fowler's oil landscapes, always painted en plein air, are heavily laden with thick paint, often applied with a palette knife, yet the works remain buoyant, fresh and verdant. His gracefully loose style ® filled with organic movement ® is perhaps a metaphor for the ever-changing nature of the meadows, fields and babbling brooks that are his subjects.

Currently residing in Austin, TX, Fowler is represented by the Wally Workman Gallery, Austin, the Edmond-Craig Gallery, Fort Worth, and the Jackson Kirkland Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. His work will be featured in an upcoming solo exhibition at the Victoria Museum in Victoria, TX. Corporate collections include Dillards Department Stores, Proctor and Gamble. His work is also held in the private collection of Ms. Sandra Bullock. He studied with Philip Jamison, John Groth and Fremont Ellis, among others, and now teaches at the Austin Museum of Art.
